The S-series traditional I/O subsystem includes:

• I/O interface carrier (DIN-rail surface mounted) on which

all I/O related components are installed.

• Bulk AC to 24V DC power supply for field devices.

• A variety of analog and discrete I/O interfaces, consisting

each of an I/O card enclosed in a common form factor and

an associated I/O terminal block, which easily plug into the

I/O interface carrier.

• Cable extenders that provide flexibility in carrier mounting.

The I/O cards are connected to the field with a terminal block,

which allows removal of I/O cards without disconnecting any
