The IC670MDL740 comes with an integrated terminal block consisting of 25 terminals. Each terminal is designed to terminate one AWG #14 – AWG #22 wire or two (18) wires using AWG #2 wire. By installing external jumpers on this module, the allowable wire size is reduced to AWG #14 to AWG #16.
The Field Control IC670MDL740 DC Output Module is a GE Fanuc positive logic output module. The GE IC670MDL740 positive logic output module provides a set of 16 discrete output channels. The outputs also act as source type outputs. The duty of the output point is to supply current to the load by switching the load to the positive side of the DC supply. A 5 amp fuse is included in the module for connection to an external power source. The outputs are capable of switching the load over a range of 10 to 30 volts DC while providing a maximum current of 0.5 amps per point. Each output is connected to a status indicator LED to indicate the on/off status of that output.
The IC670MDL740 Positive Logic Output Module draws a maximum current of 111 mA from the Bus Interface Unit’s power supply. The module’s status LEDs indicate a blown fuse fault and whether the user supply voltage is below 9.8 volts DC. If the power supply is not connected correctly, the fuse blows. This means that the fuse helps protect the output from external power supply polarity errors. It also helps protect the module from excessive current flowing through the output points. It is recommended that the user use a slow blow fuse tage rating with a 5 Amps current rating and 250 volts AC. The module can also send a blown fuse diagnostic message to the bus interface unit. The IC670MDL740 positive logic output module has a maximum inrush current of 2 Amps, a maximum load current of 0.5 Amps, and a minimum load current of 1 milliamp.
